Wayne Bruns, born June 22, 1939, passed away on March 31, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, hard work, and unwavering dedication to both his family and his Lord.
Born in Wisconsin to Herbert and Francis Bruns, Wayne grew up with strong values that would guide him throughout his life. He always held a slight interest in airplanes during the 1980s, but it wasn’t until the 1990s—after meeting the love of his life, Kathleen—that he fully pursued his passion and became a pilot. Flying brought him a deep sense of joy and freedom, and it remained something he treasured.
Wayne made his life in California, where he built not only homes but also lasting relationships and a reputation for integrity and craftsmanship. He took great pride in his work, dedicating himself fully to every project and continuing to work hard even into his later years. His work ethic was a true reflection of his character—steadfast, reliable, and committed.
Above all, Wayne was a family man. He shared a loving life with his wife, Kathleen Peters-Bruns, and was a proud father to Erik, Tim, Kris, Kandy, Leann, Shannon, and Jeremy. His love extended deeply to his grandchildren, who brought him immense joy and whom he cherished beyond words. Whether sharing stories, laughter, or quiet moments, Wayne’s presence in their lives will always be felt.
Wayne’s faith was the foundation of his life. He walked closely with the Lord, living with humility, gratitude, and purpose. His strength, kindness, and devotion to God were evident in the way he lived and loved others.
He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his strong hands that built so much, his passion for flying, and his deep, abiding love for his family. Though he is no longer with us, his legacy will continue to live on in the lives he touched and the family he so dearly loved.
Wayne Bruns will be profoundly missed and forever remembered.
