Obituary
Thomas Hamilton was born in Lawton, Oklahoma on July 17, 1937 and peacefully passed at home on August 1, 2023.
Tom was a devoted husband to Yolanda Hamilton for 65 years and a proud father of three children: Veronika Childers (David), Ken Hamilton (Stacy), and Glenn Hamilton. He was also a loving grandfather to his cherished grandchildren: Kristopher Childers, Tyler Hamilton, and Brittani Childers, great granddaughter: Evangeline Hamilton.
Tom dedicated many years of his life in service to his country as a member of the Air Force. After his honorable service, he continued to serve the community as a valued member of the United States Post Office in Merced and Atwater, where he worked until his retirement. After retirement, Tom spent many years as a substitute teacher for various schools in Merced County.
Deeply rooted in his faith, Tom was a devout Catholic, finding solace and strength in his beliefs. He was also an esteemed member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Anthony's, where he fostered a sense of brotherhood and contributed to various charitable endeavors.
Throughout his life, Tom was known for his kindness, integrity, and unwavering commitment to his loved ones. He leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will forever be treasured by those who had the privilege of knowing him.

A viewing will be held at Wilson Family Funeral Chapel in Atwater on Thursday, August 17th beginning at 3:00pm with a rosary starting at 5:00pm. A reception will follow.
The mass service will be Friday, August 18th at 10:00am at St. Anthony's in Atwater. A reception will follow.
A burial will be Monday, August 21st at 11:00am at San Joaquin National Cemetery in Santa Nella.
