Sharon passed away peacefully at her residence on the morning of June 30, 2025. She was born on January 6, 1938 a daughter to the late Raymond and Hazel Fox of Saint Louis, Missouri.
Sharon grew up and attended school in Saint Louis. It was here that she would meet and eventually marry Richard, her husband of 64 years. They would have three children, Mark, Elizabeth (Beth), and Paul.
As an Air Force family, the Clarkes grew and moved from Georgia to Michigan and finally settled near Castle AFB in Atwater, California in 1972. Besides being a mother to her children, she volunteered at Saint Anthony’s school where she eventually became a board member. She was a banker at Community First Bank. For many years she did the books for C.R. Cabinets. She eventually retired to the life of a beloved grandmother to her four granddaughters.
Besides her family and friends, she loved animals, a good glass of wine, and visiting the many beautiful parks here in California and beyond. She was an avid walker. Sharon attended mass with her family at Saint Anthony’s and Immaculate Conception Mission Church (Buhach). Bunko night with her lady friends was a favorite. In retirement she made many wonderful friends in the Atwater Women’s Club.
Sharon is survived by her husband Richard Clarke, her sisters Ellen Bednara and Nancy Fox, her children Mark Clarke, Elizabeth (Beth) Knobloch, and Paul Clarke, her daughter-in-law Erin Clarke, and her son-in-law Erik Knobloch. She was loved and will be missed by her granddaughters Michelle Hsiang, Miranda Knobloch, Shannon Chakravorty, and Kirsten Knobloch. Though she only knew her great grandson Theo for a short time, he never failed to bring a smile to her face.
She will be sorely missed by all who knew her but shall live on so long as we hold a place for her in our hearts.
Funeral services will be held at Immaculate Conception Mission Church in Atwater, CA, on 07/31/2025 at 10 AM. A rosary will be held at the church preceding the mass at 9:30 AM. A celebration of life will be held for Sharon after the service at the Atwater Women’s Club at 1201 Grove Ave., Atwater CA.
