Scotty Dewayne Yarbrough, of Atwater, California, passed away on June 5, 2026. Scotty passed away peacefully at St. John’s Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma, after a long battle with congestive heart failure, with his daughter and mother by his side.
Scotty was born on February 22, 1972, in Merced, California, to Rose Tolman and Don Yarbrough. He was the beloved brother of David Yarbrough and Christie Yarbrough.
Scotty had a passion for fishing, riding dirt bikes, singing, cruising back roads with his music turned up, and spending time with his family and friends. He lived life on his own terms and found joy in the simple things that brought people together.
Scotty is survived by his mother, Rose Tolman; his children, Lacey Risinger and Josh Yarbrough; his son-in-law, Troy Risinger; his daughter-in-law, Kelsey Yarbrough; his granddaughter, Mackenzie Risinger; his brother, David Yarbrough; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Christie Yarbrough; his dad, Don Yarbough; his aunts, Nora Peach, Dora Robertson, and Diana Robertson; his uncle, Bobbie; his cousin, Tommy Lee Yarbrough; his grandparents, Margie Rush and Lynn Robertson, Roxy Yarbrough, Ray Yarbrough; and his beloved dogs, Jack, Saddles, and Tully.
Scotty will be remembered for his love of family, his adventurous spirit, and the memories he created with those fortunate enough to know him. Though he is no longer with us, his laughter, stories, and love will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, June 28, 2026 at 1 pm at Snelling Community Hall at Henderson Park (3335 Merced Falls Road, Snelling, CA). Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate Scotty’s life and the lasting impact he had on those around him.
