Sally P. Gutierrez

Sally Gutierrez born March 17, 1937, passed away on July 30, 2023. She was 86 years old, a native of Merced.

She is survived by sisters Isabel Salcido of Riverside, CA., Virginia Gonzales of Merced, CA., brothers Bobby Flores of Winton, CA., and Victor Flores of Merced, CA. Preceded in death by husband Nino Gutierrez, parents Frank and Mary Flores and brother Richard Flores.

For many years Sally loved playing shortstop for the women's slow pitch baseball league in Merced, she was one a heck of a ball player. She was the SF Giant's biggest fan, never missed a game on tv, even going to spring training where she was wished a happy birthday and her cap signed by Brandon Crawford. Sally liked going to casinos and of course shopping, she was so fun, had an adventurous spirit, and was game for anything. She enjoyed volunteer work for her church and retired from Davis Cannery in Atwater after over twenty years of service. She was famous for her cooking skills (especially her salsa) and always made sure your belly was full. Sally was a special Auntie to her large extended family, so beloved and will be missed by all.

Visitation will be held at Wilson Funeral Chapel in Atwater on Tuesday, August 15 from 2 -5 pm. Services will be at St. Anthony Church 1799 Winton Way on Wednesday, August 16 at 10:00am. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery 260 West Childs Ave.
