Robert (Bob) Lacey, 84, of Westlake Village, CA passed away in Merced, CA on Wednesday, April 24th, surrounded by family. Bob was born in San Jose, California in 1939 and grew up longboard surfing and hiking the mountains of California. After graduating from Willow Glen High School and serving four years in the Army National Guard, he started working in the canning department with Dole. While working full-time in the cannery, he earned a Master's IT degree from San Jose State University, allowing him to transfer into the computer programming department where he flourished. He would go on to have a 60-year career working with Dole. He retired to Westlake Village, CA in 2017, where he spent his time enjoying family, friends, and the beauty of Southern California. Bob was a kind and sensitive man who cared deeply for his family, but generally kept it light with his quirky sense of humor and infectious laugh.
Bob is survived by his children Suzanne and Patrick; sister Carol Judd, five grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
