Bob went to school to the 8th grade graduating from Winton School. He spent his young years helping on his father's farm. He worked many years driving trucks, farming and mechanicing. He loved farming the most. He enjoyed working on vehicles and many people had their vehicles fixed for little or no charge. Bob was a deacon at Winton First Southern Baptist Church. He loved his Lord and Savior above all else, he taught his children about Jesus and walked out his faith. Many saw Jesus through watching him live his life. He exemplified the Fruits of the Spirit, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. He prayed faithfully for each of his children. He loved music -he taught himself to play guitar and loved listening to gospel music and classic country. He loved singing and would have music sessions with whatever family wanted to join in up until he couldn’t remember how to play. Bob loved camping and traveling. He was a pilot and would proudly show off his pilots license long after losing the ability to fl y. He spent many hours on the lake each summer fi shing, skiing & pulling the kids around on a tube. Watching our father love our mother with an unfailing love was the best! Us children did not see our parents fi ght or argue. They celebrated 68 years of marriage 2 days before dad gained his wings. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend to all who knew him.He will be very missed, yet held forever in our hearts. We the family would like to express our gratitude to the staff of Grace Home who made our fathers final days comfortable and so well cared for.
