Richard (Rick) Lee French of Winton, CA, passed away peacefully at his home on September 12, 2023. He was born on November 13, 1946 in Vancouver, Washington to Clarence and Eva Mae French and was one of three children. He is survived by his wife, Brenda, of 56 years. Three sons, Daniel Walter French, aka Danny (Mariah); Benjamin Lee French, aka Ben (Marianne); and Patrick Alexander French, aka Alex (Xochitl); four grandchildren, Jalen, Alyssa, Sabrina, Naiyana; and one great grandson, Alexander, aka Xander.
Rick served in the U.S. Air Force for four years. He met the love of his life Brenda, while stationed at Castle Air Force Base in Atwater, and was honorably discharged in 1971.
After his military service Rick began his career with Beacon Gas Station in Winton and went on to own his own Beacon Gas Station in Turlock. He worked for the company, which later changed to Valero Gas, for over 25 years and was honored for his service.
He enjoyed reading western novels by his favorite author Louis L’Amour and enjoyed working on his cars. He dedicated his life to providing and caring for his family. His family loves him and will greatly miss him.
Internment will take place at Winton Cemetery, 7651 Almond Avenue, Winton, CA 95334, on Friday September 22, 2023 at 1:00 p.m.
