Regino Mariscal Jr

Regino Mariscal Jr. - 29 of Merced passed away following a tragic accident on Saturday, May 3.

He was born here in Merced, to parents Regino Mariscal Sr. & Alejandra Uriarte de Mariscal and attended school locally. He spent his life giving back to his community. He was a dedicated, and valuable member of Tenaya Middle School and a compassionate, caring team member of the Restorative Justice Program in the Merced City School District. Reggie was truly dedicated to assisting students in his community and was always available to any TMS student that needed mentoring or assistance. He was popular with all students, and many always looked forward to attending his weekly Wednesday afterschool session. Reggie was invaluable to his community, but most importantly - he was invaluable to his family. 

He was deeply loved by those who know him and his family are deeply saddened by his loss. There are no words that can express the depth of grief and loss felt during this difficult time. And they are grateful for the outpouring of love and support they have received in the recent days. 

Regino is survived by his parents Regino & Alejandra Mariscal, brother Bladimir Mariscal & Natael Mariscal and his sister Arlene Mariscal. He is also survived by a large extended family. 

Viewing/Visitation will be held privately. 

Recitation of the Rosary and Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, May 15th, with Rosary to begin at 9:30am & Mass will begin at 10:00am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Merced. Burial will immediately follow at Merced Cemetery District.
