On the evening of Sunday, July 14, 2024, our Dear Mother and wife Ramona Legarda (Lindo) Giesbrecht passed away in the comfort of her home in Merced, California surrounded by her family. She had been battling Alzheimer's for the past five years.
Ramona was born in Silver City, New Mexico to Conrado and Lenor Legarda. She was one of seven children; she had two brothers Alfredo & Salvador Legarda, and four sisters Rita Benavidez, Beatrice Pena, Lora Bencomo and Cecilia Hauoli.
Mother was a diehard Pittsburgh Steelers Fan. We always enjoyed seeing her watch the game because she would jump up and down and scream at the TV with such excitement. Some of her passions were camping, volunteering at the church, singing and dancing to music, if the music was playing, she was DANCING. She enjoyed traveling and it gave her such joy and pleasure to visit everyone. Our mother taught us that family and friends are the most important things in life, she always had the ability to make friends everywhere she went. She will ALWAYS be remembered for her kindness, love and devotion to her family and friends, by all who had the pleasure of meeting her. We would like to THANK all her relatives and friends everywhere, for the love, prayers and support through this difficult time, she truly loved you all.
Ramona is survived by her husband Norman Giesbrecht, five sons: Brooks, Conrad, Ted (Jacquline), Steve, Ricky (Tina) and her only daughter Marie. In addition to 11 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren and her sister Cecilia Hauoli.
A celebration of life will be held Sunday, August 4th at 11:00am, at the Merced Olive East Seventh-day Adventist Church on E. Olive Ave., Merced.
