Obituary
Norman Stephen Mazzei, age 89, passed away peacefully November 8 at Queen of the Family Hospital in Napa California, with two daughters (Mingo and Rowena), by his side.
Born September 1, 1928 in Merced California, Norman lived all of his life in Merced before retiring in 2006 to the Veterans Home in Yountville CA . He attended McSwain Elementary School, Merced High School and one year at UC Davis before enlisting in the Army Air Corps. He was honorably discharged in 1949..He retired in 1993 from Wilsons Funeral Home in Atwater.
He was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Lodge 1240, Sacred Heart Men's Club and Sacred Heart Parish.
Norman was married for 51 years to Dolores Wilson Mazzei.. She preceded him in death in 2006. He was also preceded in death by his second wife, Audrey Meyer in 2011, his parents Mary and Stefano Mazzei and two sisters, Jane Kurrels and Marjorie Bradley.
Norman is survived by three daughters, Mingo Greco (James) of Rio Vista, Rowena Carlsgaard (Rick) of Merced and Mary Mazzei-Koederitz (Bill) of Cedar Park Texas. Eight granddaughters and 13 great-grandchildren also survive him.
A Rosary is scheduled for Wednesday, 15th at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 13th and M Sts., Merced. A memorial celebration will follow immediately afterwards.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Collabria Hospice, 414 S. Jefferson St.Napa California 94559 ,The Veterans Home of Yountville or the charity of your choice.
