Moraima Grijalva Obituary

How do we say goodbye to someone who has been the biggest piece of our puzzle for so long?

Born on June 16th, 1952, to Miguel Grijalva and Moraima Nieto in El Paso, Texas. She was raised in Los Angeles, CA until she moved to Merced, CA which is where she settled in, making Merced her home for over 50 years. Passing away on Thursday, June 4th, in the comfort of home, just 12 days shy of her 74th birthday.

Our mother’s legacy is one of love, kindness, and compassion. She was a devoted Mother, Grandmother, Memaw, Tia, Sister, and Friend to countless people whose lives she touched. She never met a stranger. Wherever she went, she greeted others with a smile and had a remarkable gift for turning even the briefest encounter into a meaningful connection.

Her heart was always open to those in need. Whether it was offering a meal, a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on, or sharing a kind word; she was always willing to help. Her generosity and caring spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who was fortunate enough to know her.

Like any family, we experienced our share of ups and downs, but through it all, love remained at the center of who she was. As the middle of three sisters, she grew into a woman of strength and resilience. She raised six children: five daughters and one son - a task that required endless patience, sacrifice, and unconditional love.

She was also blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart. Her love for her family knew no bounds, and she cherished every one of them deeply.

Mom, we miss you more than words can express. It is difficult to imagine life without you here, but we are grateful for the countless beautiful memories we shared. Thank you for your unwavering love, your guidance, your laughter, and the many ways you showed us what it means to care for others.

Though you are no longer with us, your love, your kindness, and your spirit will live on in all of us forever!
