Mary “Margie” Anderson

Mary “Margie” Anderson, 74, beloved wife of Dennis Anderson of Atwater, California, went to Heaven on Wednesday, February 18, 2026.

Born June 3, 1951, in Madera, California, she was the daughter of Lupe Fimbrez-Garcia and the late Rudy Garcia.

Margie was raised in Merced, California, and graduated from Merced High School. She received her A.A degree from Merced Community College and then a Bachelor’s degree from Chapman University.

She was proud of her 20 years of work as an Allied Health Division Secretary at Merced Community College.

She is survived by her husband Dennis Anderson of Atwater, CA. Her sons Adam Tacheira and his wife Sandra of Mi Wuk Village, CA, Nick Tacheira and his wife Christa of Atwater, CA, and Marc Anderson and his wife Bethany of Atwater, CA.

She especially loved her grandchildren, Elaina, Katelynne, Erin, Sophia, Gavin, Addison, and Aidien.

She is also survived by her mother Lupe Fimbrez-Garcia and sister Patsy Scheidt.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 21st, 2026, at 1:00pm in The Atwater Women’s Club, 1201 Grove Ave, Atwater, CA.

Margie was a beacon of love and kindness whose warmth touched everyone, fortunate enough to know her. She made family and friends all feel welcomed, valued, and deeply cared for. So many of her boys’ friends, thought of her as a mother as she always opened her home to them, sometimes taking them in, and always making them feel like family. She possessed that rare gift of making each person feel truly seen and heard. Her love was unconditional.  

Margie was a member of the New Life Community Church she lived her life with grace, integrity, and an open heart. Though her physical presence is gone, the profound impact of her beautiful soul will live on forever in the hearts of those who were blessed to call her wife/daughter/sister/mother/grandmother and friend.
