Marilyn Flo Phillips, age 86 of Atwater, passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2024. Born August 19, 1937 in Saline County, Kansas, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Ida Mary Olson.
Marilyn worked in the civil service with the U.S. Air Force for about 25 years from the time she was married in 1958 to her forever love, Earl. She also had side businesses throughout her life including specialty decorated cakes and Mary Kay cosmetic sales. Marilyn was an active member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church for over 50 years while raising three children. She loved singing, dancing, baking, sewing, reading, and gardening. She is fondly remembered by friends and family for her creative talents, nurturing and caring heart, and country girl charm.
Marilyn is survived by her children, Lori, Shawn, and Shane (wife, Kathy); and five grandchildren, Kyle, Kaylie (husband, Jared), Lindsey, Matthew, and Brynlee. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl, and brother, Thomas (sister-in-law, Sandra).
A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, August 19, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Atwater. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to Alzheimer's Foundation of America (https://alzfdn.org/).
