Margaret Lupe Myers

Margaret Myers, 76, passed away Monday, August 12, 2024 at Dignity Health Hospital in Merced.

She was born October 14th, 1947, in Merced California to Robert and Josephine Ornelas, and raised in the Atwater/Winton area.

Margaret attended Atwater High School. After High School she worked at the Winton Beauty Shop doing hair for several years before becoming a full-time homemaker. Margaret had a heart for family. The door to her home was always open.  She was known as “mom” to many she raised as her own. She loved to cook and bake for friends and family (She was famous for her sugar cookies and potato salad).  She enjoyed watching her favorite TV shows, especially her novellas. She was an avid Raider Fan and loved watching Sunday night football.

Margaret is survived by her husband John Myers of 50 years, and 3 children, Nicole Martinez, John Jr. Myers, and Laura Myers. 5 grandchildren, Angelo Higareda, Izaiah Garcia, Elijah Lopez, Carlos Lopez, Jayden Lopez, and 1 great grandchild Neveah Higareda. Margaret is also survived by her brothers Fred Ornelas, Henry Ornelas, and Raymond Ornelas, and sister MaryAnn (Tootsie) Ornelas Delacruz.

She is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Josephine Ornelas, brothers: Salvador, Angelo, Benito (Buck), Louie, and Roy, sisters: Vivian Macias, and Lucy Garcia.

Services will be Friday, September 6th, 2024, Rosary at 10:00am, Chapel Blessing at 10:30am at Wilson Family Funeral Chapel with burial to follow at the Winton Cemetery then Reception will follow at VFW Hall in Winton.
