Manuela Cardenas, age 89, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2024, in Turlock, CA. Manuela was born, the youngest of 9 children, in a small town in Jalisco, Mexico. In her mid 20’s, she relocated to Livingston, CA. There she met Albert B. Cardenas Sr. Albert and Manuela married and settled in Livingston. A longtime resident of Livingston, Manuela Worked for Monte Cristo Almond Packing Company for 25 plus years as a line worker. Manuela enjoyed spending time with friends and family. Manuela was a faithful parishioner of Saint Judes Catholic Church in Livingston. One of Manuela’s greatest passions was her garden and all her lovely plants that she attended to religiously. Manuela also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cooking and baking. Throughout the years, Manuela had many pets. Her dogs and birds brought her much joy, but it was her birds that made her the happiest. Manuela also enjoyed listening to older mariachi music and musica romantica, but what brought her most joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Manuela is proceeded in death by her father and mother, her 8 siblings, and her husband Albert Cardenas Sr.
Manuela is survived by her four children (who she loved very much) Blanca Terry (husband Moochie) of Merced, CA. Hector Chavez Barragan of Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. Albert Cardenas Jr. (wife Trudy) of Atwater, CA. Andrew Cardenas (wife Ernestine) of Lathrop, CA. Her six grandchildren and two great grandchildren that she loved with all her heart. Erika McQueen (husband Jacob), Montserrat (Montse) Chavez, Stephan Terry, Aaron Terry, Nikole Cardenas, and Ava Cardenas. Great grandchildren Elliana (Ellie) and Juliana (Jules) McQueen.
Manuela was a beloved mother, “nana”, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be deeply missed.
