Larry Rogge Obituary

Larry Conrad Rogge, age 83, passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, September 21st, 2024.

Larry was born on June 27th,1941 in Omaha, Nebraska to parents Conrad and Fern (ne. Hooper) Rogge. The oldest of three children, Larry enjoyed his childhood with his sister Alice and brother Lloyd. Larry married his high school sweetheart, Carol Fogle on December 19th, 1959 in Papillion, Nebraska. Larry and Carol depended on each other and built a strong marriage and family through their military life. They were blessed by the births of their children, Janice, Julie, Russell, and Randy. They lived all around the world, made many friends and memories together.

After graduating high school, Larry enlisted in the United States Navy as a corpsman in 1959. He served until 1979, retiring at the rank of Chief Petty Officer. Larry and family established roots in Atwater, California in 1980.  At the same time, Larry began his second career as a medical systems specialist at General Electric, where he worked until his retirement in 2000.  Larry continued to work past his retirement, eventually opening his own business to continue to service the medical community in the Central Valley.

Larry loved his home and being outside. He often could be found planting a new flower around his pool, or working in his yard. He and Carol were devoted parents, grandparents and great grandparents. They welcomed a house full of family as often as they could. Family dinners, barbeques, holidays and celebrations were cherished by Larry. He served his church family at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, in Atwater, for many years, as an active member of the congregation and Elder. Larry’s strong faith was evident throughout his life.

Larry is survived by his children, Janice Rogge, Julie Jones (Edward), Randy Rogge (Nancy); eleven grandchildren Andrew Imbrie (Ploua), Katrina Trexler, Richard Imbrie (Debbie), Kendra Granado (Matt), Breanne Rogge, Austin Rogge, Alexander Rogge, Maleigha Rogge, and Malani Rogge, Allie and Nate (Sabrina) Jones; and ten great-grandchildren  Matthew Granado, Isley Imbrie, Haley Imbrie, Benjamin and Tatum Granado, Owen Imbrie, Logan Imbrie, Kailee Wilde, Mya and Noah Rogge.
