Kenneth Charles Lackey, a devoted husband, talented handyman, and lifelong resident of Winton, California, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at the age of 73. Born on October 15, 1951, Ken was the youngest of seven children and grew up surrounded by strong values and deep connections of a close-knit family
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Vickie Lackey, who was his constant companion and greatest joy.
Together, they shared a life full of love, laughter, and meaningful memories, many of which were made during their cherished trips to Chukchansi.
Ken was known for his incredible skills as a handyman. Whether it was a home project or helping a neighbor,
he had the rare ability to fix almost anything, always with patience and precision. Beyond his mechanical talents, Ken had a true green thumb.
He found peace and pride intending to his garden, nurturing a wide array of plants and flowers that brightened his home and the lives of those around him.
Ken is survived by his brothers Dennis, David, John, Billie, and his sister Shirley. He was proceeded in death by one sibling.
Ken’s quiet strength, helpful nature, and love for the simple joys in life will be remembered and deeply missed by all who knew him.
A private memorial will be held by the family at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests planting something beautiful in his memory, just as Ken would have done.
