Katie Maxine Summerton Flores

Katie was born in Merced, Ca to Howard Taylor Bostick and Hazel Alice Wheeler Bostick. In 1953 Katie married her first love Darwin James Summerton. Being in the Air Force they traveled Throughout the U.S and overseas. Darwin retired in 1971 after 20 years of service. He passed away in 1974 due to an automobile accident. After moving back to Merced, Katie worked many years at Mid Valley Dairymen and Merced Dairy Supply and Veterinary Supply Inc. where she retired in 2006. In January 2009 Katie married Valentin (Val) Flores Jr. extending her family with 1 son, 1 daughter, 1 grandson, 1 granddaughter, 1 great grandson and 1 great granddaughter. Katie was preceded in death by her parents, brother and 6 sisters. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved husband, 2 sons- Glenn Summerton (Joann), Keith Summertan (Carrie), 2 daughters - Joyce Summerton, Nancy Olson, 3 grandsons, 3 granddaughters, 4 great grandsons, and 1 great granddaughter.

Katie's services will be on June 26, 2026, starting with her Visitation 10am., and Service 11 am. Luncheon 12 pm at Mered Baptist Church 1004 W,15th. Merced, Ca. Internment 1:30pm Winton District Cemetery at Winton, Ca.
