Juanita Munoz

Juanita Munoz – 96 of Planada, CA passed away in the comfort of her home on Wednesday, December 4th.

Juanita was born Thursday, March 8, 1928, in Austin, Texas and has resided in the Merced & Planada area for over 55 years. She enjoyed Novelas, music and her family, but mainly spending time with her partner in nearly an 80-year love story, Marcelino. He passed two months prior to her, and now they are together again. Juanita was a fierce protective mother and grandmother. She passed down her friendly nature and beautiful smile to her children.

She is survived by her children Rosa Torres, Sabas (Sally) Munoz, Josephine Nanez, Jesse (Linda) Munoz, Frances Garcia, Marcelino (Laura) Munoz, Antonia Calvillo, Daniel (Frances) Garibay) Munoz, Pauline Munoz and Pedro Munoz. As well as twenty-three grandchildren, sixty-six great grandchildren and thirty-two great, great grandchildren.

Juanita is preceded in death by her husband Marcelino Munoz, her parents Crisobal and Cruz Cardenas, her son Cruz Munoz, sons-in-law Raymond Torres, Fortune Calvillo, Thomas Nanez and Tony Moreno and her grandchildren Thomas Nanez, Jr., Paulina Chambers and Brianna Munoz.

Services will be held on Wednesday December 18th beginning with visitation at 8:30am, followed by the recitation of the Rosary to begin at 9:00am and Funeral Mass at 10:00am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Planada, burial will follow at Plainsburg Cemetery.
