Joseph (Joe) Pedras

God called Joseph (Joe) Pedras home on April 23, 2026. Born to Joseph E. and Conceicao Pedras on April 29, 1934; he was their youngest child. He learned farming from his father, eventually taking over the family farm. Joe spent over 70 years producing a variety of crops while cherishing the land he inherited. A life-long bachelor, he provided for his mother and two sisters while ensuring their happiness and wellbeing. When he could no longer work his land, he found like-minded growers to lease and care for his farm. He passed while recovering from hip surgery. He is survived by six nieces and nephews.

Joe’s funeral services will be at Immaculate Conception Church (2988 N. Buhach Rd, Atwater) on Mon, May 18th. A rosary will be recited at 9:30am followed by Mass at 10am. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Merced.
