John "Mike" Michael Propes

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of John Michael “Mike” Propes, a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, who left us on July 9, 2024 at the age of 83.  Born on August 11, 1940, Mike lived a life full of dedication and love, making a profound impact on everyone who knew him.

Mike was the devoted husband of Susan Lozito Propes for 60 wonderful years, and together they raised four children. Mike’s guidance, dedication and unwavering love helped shape his children into the individuals they are today. Everything Mike did was for his family.

After completing his enlistment in the U.S. Navy, Mike worked for over 35 years at Xerox, where he was known for his expertise and ability to fix anything. Mike had an incredible work ethic and was greatly respected among his colleagues. He was a friend to all, and was always ready to help others.

An avid outdoorsman, Mike spent countless enjoyable hours working in his garden, creating many happy memories with his family.  He was actively involved in his kid’s lives, coaching teams and becoming a local boy scout leader in order to spend time with them. Mike is survived by his wife Susan, his children Dr. Von Goodin and his wife Jill, Dr. Andy Propes and his wife Bliss, Toni Propes, and Ali Colacito and her husband Tony. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mike’s legacy will live on through the many lives he touched. Rest in Peace, Pop. You will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
