Janice Lorraine Padilla

Janice Lorraine Padilla – 65 of Merced, passed away on December 21, 2024, at Doctors Medical Center in Modesto following a motor vehicle accident that occurred a few days prior.

Janice was born in Merced, CA on January 28, 1959, to parents Thomas & Naomi Counts. She was raised in her hometown of Merced, attending school locally. After graduating high school, she went on to obtain her (CDL) commercial license and spent the following 25+ years on the road as a truck driver. Janice loved being on the road.  But above all, she loved her family. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were her greatest joy, she loved them dearly.

She is survived by two children: daughter Melissa Hernandez & son Jesse (Stephanie) Padilla, grandchildren: Jesse Padilla, Christopher Padilla, Jessalyn Padilla, Jaime Gonzalez, Clara Dimas, and Martin Dimas and six great grandchildren. As well as siblings, Linda Heymem, Thomas Counts, Alvin Counts, and Ruthy Cyr.

Janice was greatly loved and will be missed beyond measure.
