James D Williamson, (Jim) passed away peacefully in his home. James was born on November 23, 1951 in Kennet, MO and passed away on January 29, 2024 in his home in Merced, CA. He was under the care of his sister, Belinda Capehart, and Bristol Hospice. James was preceded in death by his daughter, Melinda Williamson, his loving wife, Alice Williamson, his father, James, (JC) Williamson and mother, Wanda Williamson. He leaves behind 4 sons, Robert Chew of Merced, CA, Richard Chew of Clackamas, OR, Mathaniel Williamson of Scranton PA and Scott Chew of Sacramento, CA, one daughter, Mary (Williamson) Davis of Ocean Park, WA, his sister, Belinda (Williamson) Capehart of Merced, CA and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends During his life, he had numerous hobbies and talents such as working on race cars with his uncle and cousin, (Robert Williamson Sr. and Robert Jr.) at the Merced Speedway, guitar playing, gold panning, fishing and worked as a roofer for Mel Maxwell, Color Press of Merced, and as a truck driver for many years for Commodity Transporters, Inc. in Turlock, CA and Ron Lawrence Trucking of Modesto, CA. James was a member of the Church of Christ in Atwater, CA and was loved by many for his kind, forgiving, generous heart and his contagious sense of humor. There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at the Atwater Church of Christ located at 181 E. Broadway Ave, Atwater, CA with visitation starting at 10:15 a.m. and services beginning at 11:00 a.m. There will be food and fellowship after the services at the church building as well. The family would like to thank Bristol Hospice for their loving care, the Atwater Church of Christ, Commodity Transporters and the many friends and family members who reached out to us with condolences and offers for assistance during this difficult time.
