James (Jim) Byron Davis, IV passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at home. He was born January 24, 1955, in Arcata, CA to Jim and Nancy Davis. Shortly after he was born, the family moved to Sonoma, CA, where Jim and his five siblings were raised. Jim attended local schools; Saint Francis Solano Catholic School through 8th grade and Sonoma Valley High School, where he graduated 1972. He attended Santa Rosa Junior College before enlisting in the United States Navy. Jim enjoyed his years in the Navy. He had a thirst for knowledge and a strong love for travel. The Navy provided both. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, sharing stories of his travels abroad while in the Navy. Jim could easily capture one’s attention and draw them into his interesting stories. Jim touched many people with his generosity and passion for life.
Jim is survived by daughter, Melissa, 6 grandchildren: Joseph, Hailey, Jace, Peter, Brittany and Breanna. His grandchildren filled his heart with love and laughter and were the light of his life. He cherished every moment with them. He is also survived by sisters: Kerry Cheek, Anna Losk (Dave) Angela McKinnon, and brothers: Kenneth and Bruce Davis; Nephews, Andy (Ashley), Jason (Angelina) and Matthew. Nieces, Jessica, Nicole, Chantilly and Cidnee; 6 Great-Nieces and 1 Great-Nephew and numerous cousins.
