Gwenlea "Gwen" Keever

It is with heavy heart and great sorrow that I confirm that my loving wife of 58 years and our children’s mother, Gwenlea Keever, passed away on October 29, 2025, in Merced, California. She died peacefully in her sleep at the age of 85, after struggling with a respiratory condition for 7 years. Gwenlea was a loyal wife to her husband and nurturing mother to her children.

In addition to caring for her family, Gwenlea (Gwen) was very active with many community groups and found the time to have monthly luncheons with a group of longtime friends from High School.

Gwenlea is survived by her husband Gary Keever, children Kurt, Deanna, Deborah, Jennifer, and her sister Kathleen Mitchell. She was a loving grandmother to Taelor, Austin, Amber, Scotty, Jimmy, Michaela, Alan, Victoria, Alexandra, Michael, Zoe and Hawes. Gwenlea was also blessed with eleven great-grandchildren and 1 great, great-grandson.  She is preceded in death by her youngest son Craig.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at the Revive Event Center, 443 W. 18th Street, Merced, CA from 1:00pm to 5:00pm.
