Glenda Rose Starling

Glenda Rose Starling – 85 passed away in the comfort of her home, in Merced, CA.

Glenda was born in Dallas Texas to Chester and Eula Foster. Glenda was a fiercely independent woman throughout her life. She was an open, honest, loving person, who lived her life with genuine compassion for others. Her compassionate and giving nature was evident in her dedication working in the medical field most of her career. Many of those years spent locally at Mercy Medical Center.

Aside from her years caring for those in the community, she was a beloved daughter, sister, mother grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. In most recent years, she had become a homebody, but enjoyed getting out and about and had become an avid bingo player.

She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

Glenda was survived by her four children: sons “Butch” Chester & “Buddy” George Starling and daughters Kathy Starling & Laurie Wetzel and her brother Phil. In addition to nine natural grandchildren and four adopted grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.  

She is preceded in death by her sister Eula and parents.

A Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, October 14 at 5:00pm at “Grandma Maries” house 7364 Grace Ave., Winton Ca 95388
