Giuliana (known as Julie by many) was born in Chioggia, Italy on December 11, 1946. She passed away in her home on May 18, 2024 surrounded by family and her dogs. She’s survived by her husband, James (or Jim as many know him), sons Arthur (Helen) and Duane (Laura) Kamesch, her five grandchildren: Arlene, Giancarlo, Joseph, Kelsi and Gianna, her siblings Alda (Larry) Larson and Giuseppe (Micki) Boscolo, and her many nieces and nephews. Julie is predeceased by her parents Santo and Fiorenza Boscolo and brother Gianluigi (Karen) Boscolo. In 1956, she, her parents, and three siblings emigrated to the United States from Italy living in beautiful San Francisco. She met her future husband Jim Kamesch while working at Tary’s Restaurant and Pizzeria which belonged to her Uncle Tarcisio in Atwater. She worked for Ted Brodalski and for Section 8 housing in Merced county before retiring. Julie loved her family and was passionate about cooking, art, and travel. Many were fed in her small Atwater home with the huge backyard including family, friends, and even Atwater High’s football team in the mid 80s. After she retired, she loved going in and out of town to visit family, old friends, clients, or just anyone she came across with promises of food for her next visit. Julie will be missed by family and friends, but her memory will live on through her stories, art, quilts, and recipes passed down. Viewing will be held at Wilson’s Family Funeral Chapel on Thursday, June 6th from 3 pm to 6 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Anthony’s Church on Friday, June 7th at 10:00 am with a Rosary at 9:30 am. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
