On Saturday, March 21, 2026, with his family by his bedside, Jerry Wayne Cameron (95 years old) joined his wife Barbara Jean Cameron and infant child in heaven.
Jerry is survived by his four children and their spouses, Robert (Kathy) Cameron of Georgia, Doug (Laura) Cameron of Atwater, Sharon Morse of Atwater, Julie (John) Coate of Atwater, and Jerry’s brother Leonard Cameron of Valley Springs. Jerry has 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren with one more added later this year.
Jerry Wayne Cameron grew up in Merced, CA and attended local schools. He served in the army in Korea. After marriage to Barbara Hill in 1954, they raised their four children in the McSwain area. Jerry worked for Caltrans for 33 years as well as farming in the Atwater (McSwain area) for 69 years.
He was a member of Merced County Old Timers Association, Merced Historical Society, Merced County Recreation Board, McSwain Community Club, the Grange, and the Elks. He served the youth in the community in Boy Scouts and Youth Baseball.
Services are to be held at Wilson’s Family Funeral Chapel at 1290 N Winton Way, Atwater, CA, on April 24, 2026. Public viewing at 9:00, services following at 10:00. Graveside services to follow at 11:30 at Merced Cemetery District, 1300 B Street, Merced, CA. Luncheon to follow at his home in Atwater, CA.
