Eyan-Khai Brisco, 26, of Atwater, passed away on June 2, 2024.
Eyan was born on June 4, 1997 to Caron Russell and Todd Brisco in Merced, CA. Eyan graduated from the Fresno High School class of 2015. They went on to excel at their jobs, becoming a valued employee at Northern Merced Huller Association as a Certified Weigh Master, operating large processing equipment to a higher production value than the norm. Eyan also became an apprentice at a dental lab, and again, quickly mastered the necessary skills and went beyond in ensuring high quality smiles.
Above all, Eyan’s life was defined by music. They wrote and recorded songs, played all the instruments, and performed the vocals. At family gatherings they always had a guitar in hand and would play spontaneously. Eyan was a fixture at local events and attended a multitude of concerts. To name a few would be a discredit to the entirety of legends they witnessed perform. Eyan was frequently able to find their way backstage or to the tour bus, sometimes uninvited, but always welcomed in the end. Getting to have at length conversations and hear tales directly from their idols, Eyan walked away with much more than just an autograph. Once, as a young boy they were asked to sing onstage with Time Again at the House of Blues in Hollywood, and being fearless, they lived it up!
Eyan also exhibited a thirst for knowledge. They were an old soul and from a young age could hold a conversation with any adult or keep an audience entranced by their musings. Besides music, Eyan’s special interests were film and literature. They appreciated well-crafted art of any medium and always surprised people with their breadth of knowledge on any subject.
Second to music, or quite possibly above all things, was their love and joy of professional wrestling. They were enthralled by the larger-than-life personas from an early age. They loved both the character stories and more importantly, the real-life stories and experiences of such tough, hard-working, and diverse people. So moved by their lives and performances in the ring, Eyan wrote two full-length albums filled with poignant songs about some of their favorites, all with powerful messages clearly conveyed.
Eyan was predeceased by their grandfather, Brad Brisco, great grandparents, Alfred and Genevieve Souza, and great grandparents, Robert and Francis Matthews.
Eyan is survived by his mother and stepfather, Caron and Dana Russell, father, Todd Brisco, life partner, Sara Scibetta, older half-sister Lily Rife, younger half-brother Nathanial Lugan, younger stepbrother Indy Russell, grandparents Lorraine and David Passadori, grandfather and great uncle Rory and Kevin Matthews, as well as aunts, uncles, and cousins. Eyan will be greatly missed by all.
Services will be held at Unity of Merced on June 22, 2024 at noon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to THE TREVOR PROJECT, an organization Eyan felt strongly about. Or, flowers may be sent to Unity church on the day of the service.
