Edward Leroy "Ed" Rowen, 90, of Yuba City, CA, passed away on October 13, 2023 in Concord, CA. He was born on December 22, 1932 in Yuba City. Ed was a kind, generous, and loving man who always believed in the best of people. He had a remarkable talent for fixing anything put in front of him and cared deeply about the happiness and well-being of his loved ones.
Ed is survived by his wife of 28 years, Thua Rowen, his daughter Julie Walker, his step-daughter Erica Jensen, and his sisters Jean Barlow and Gerree Hunter. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Rowen.
Ed served in the US Navy from October 1953 to January 1957. He proudly represented his country and exemplified the values of honor, courage, and commitment receiving the Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and Expert Pistol Shot Medal during his service.
After his military service, Ed worked for Chevron for 20 years before retiring. He was dedicated and hardworking, leaving a lasting impact on his colleagues and the company.
In his free time, Ed enjoyed various hobbies. He was a semi-professional baseball player, a weightlifter, an avid bowler, a car enthusiast, and a golfer. These activities brought him joy and allowed him to connect with others who shared his passions.
