The family of David Lee Cline, of Atwater CA, is saddened to announce his passing on Tuesday, May 14th at the age of 71. He passed peacefully in his home in Atwater with his wife by his side. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
David was born in Florala, Alabama in 1952 to parents Ralph and Carolynn Cline. He was the second eldest of four children and the only son. After attending college, David joined the military and served in the Air Force. Later in life, he dedicated years to working at Bellevue Bowl and Hansen’s Furniture.
David had an outgoing personality- people gravitated towards his kindness, humor, and character. He was an avid bowler; two accolades to celebrate are his two 300 games and being inducted into the Bowling Hall of Fame. He also enjoyed supporting his community by being a member of the Atwater-Winton Lions Club. David loved traveling with his wife (especially to Hawaii), playing golf, and if you knew him, you know he loved his San Francisco Giants!
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Carolyn Cline of Arizona, and his nephew, RJ.
He is survived by his wife Marsha Cline of Atwater, daughter Crystal Cline-Whiteman (husband Travis Whiteman) of Atwater, son Matthew Cline (partner Celina Barbero) of Washington, and three bonus children Cassandra Johnson (husband Mark Johnson) of Merced, Vaughn McCarty of Merced, and Melissa McCulloch (husband Sean McCulloch) of Merced. David has 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He has three sisters- Cindy Baker (husband Tim Baker) of Illinois, Becky Prady (husband David Prady) of Utah, and Susan Hebert of Arizona.
There will be a private family service at San Joaquín Valley National Cemetery to lay our beloved to rest. A celebration of life will be held in his honor, for family and friends to attend. The family requests in lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Covenant Care Home Health & Hospice in Turlock, National Cancer Society, or the National Diabetes Organization.
