Clinton H. Wangelin ~ 48 of Merced, passed away unexpectedly following a brief illness, at Mercy Medical Center in Merced on Monday, December 18th.
Clinton was born and raised in the Turlock and Stevinson area. From the time he was young a child, Clinton was an adrenaline chasing daredevil! If there was a brick and board; he was quick to build a ramp to jump his bikes and minibikes. Or if there was a shed or easily accessible rooftop somewhere, he'd find a way to climb up to the rooftop, just to jump off! He carried that love of adrenaline and need for speed well into adulthood, the only difference was an upgrade in toys. Instead of bicycles and minibikes, it was fast trucks and motorcycles! Through his love of bikes, cars & trucks, he became a knowledgeable mechanic and worked as such, throughout the years, in addition to his love of wheeling and dealing vehicles.
Above all though, he loved his family, especially his mom! He was a proud Mama's boy! Clinton had a profound love for his 3 children and 2 grandsons. He was a kind and gentle man and was known as a lover not a fighter. Having several notable loves in his lifetime, many of whom remained good friends throughout the years.
Clinton is survived by son Clinton Wangelin of Oregon, daughters Adalynn Wangelin of Ceres & Sterling Wangelin of Redding; mom Debbi Lair & stepdad Curtis McReynolds of Merced, dad Clinton Wangelin Sr of Turlock, sisters Melisa Cisneros & Neoma McReynolds both of Merced and Monica Yarborough of Wyoming. Brothers, Kenneth Bray Sr of Hilmar, Mathew Lair of Delhi; stepbrothers William Bray Jr of Maine, Robert Bray of Turlock, James Bray Sr of Oklahoma and stepsister Michelle Miller of Oregon; in addition to many aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family members. Clinton is preceded in death by loving stepfather of 18 years.
A Graveside service will be held at Sunnyside Cemetery in Stevinson on Saturday, January 6th at 1:00pm.
