Claudio Arroyo Madrigal 93 passed away peacefully on May 19, 2026 in Merced California. He was born on December 28, 1932 in Jalapa, Michoacan, Mexico. He was preceded by death of his wife, Alicia Arroyo. Claudio worked at Foster Farms for 37 years. He was a Charro horse rider all his life. He trained American Saddlebred horses and his favorite Andalusian Horses, to the Spanish style of horse riding. He also trained the horses for the Merced County Sheriff's posse for over 40 years. He was a member of the California State Horsemen's Association for 49 Years. He road in parades all over California and won 724 trophies and 225 Sweepstakes Awards.
Claudio is survived by his children, Veronica Arroyo, Elsa Aguilar (Jesse). Carmen Huongvan, Maria de la Luz Velasquez and Claudio Arroyo. Grandchildren, Carlos, Cris and Carina Aguilar. Also leaves behind his brother Everardo Arroyo and many cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.
Claudio carried himself with quiet strength, deep pride, and a gentle spirit that touched everyone who knew him. Whether in the saddle beneath the open sky or surrounded by those he loved most, he embodied dignity, tradition and heart. He lived a long and beautiful 93 years. The kind of life build on hard work, resilience, loyalty, and love. Simply put, Claudio was one of a kind.
He will be remembered for his unwavering presence, his love of family and heritage, and the calm wisdom he shared through both words and actions. Though deeply missed, his spirit will forever remain beside us- strong, graceful and unforgettable.
