Atwater, California, Carol was born on May 22, 1941, in Emporia, Kansas, to the parents of Fay and Lula Kennison. After high school she met and married the love of her life Frank Flynn who was a member of the United States Air Force. The family was known by many as the “F-Troop.” Frank and Carol, along with their 7 kids, traveled to many states while her husband served in the Air Force. She brought with her an incomparable strength of character, iron will, and dogged determination from her Midwestern upbringing. Which she definitely needed since most of those years she managed her rowdy bunch of kids all on her own. Their final move was to Castle Air Force Base where both Frank and Carol put down deep roots in the Atwater community. Carol was a longtime employee of the Atwater School District where she proudly served the youth of Atwater in the school cafeterias.

Carol was a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was affectionately called GG by her great grandchildren. Under her straightforward, no nonsense exterior Carol had the biggest heart. All were welcome in her home and she most enjoyed it when it was filled with people. She loved doing crafts, sewing, crocheting, and building collections of things like dolls that she teased her grandchildren about inheriting one day. But what she loved most was spending time with her family; teasing, joking, and making memories. She is loved by so many and will be dearly missed by all.
