Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, entered into rest on July 21, 2024, in Merced California. Born on March 16, 1935, in Manchester, England to John and Mary Walsh. She grew up in Liverpool, England with her three sisters and mother as her father died in battle during World War II. It was in Liverpool she met the love of her life at a USO dance. William (Bill) Avery was a young United States serviceman stationed at the local Royal Air Force base. They married on August 8, 1959, and immediately started a family. There were four sons, Mark (Shiela), William (Melody), Robert and Michael (Sandra). They traveled throughout the United States to multiple Air Force bases eventually settling in Atwater. She loved to travel, spend time with family, and dance. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Mark, and her sisters Lily and Margaret. A rosary will be held in her honor on Wednesday, August 7th at 6pm at Wilson’s Funeral Chapel with viewing. Services will be held at St. Anthony’s church on August 8th at 10am. Interment will follow at the Winton Cemetery.
