Audrey Ann Kostecky

Audrey Kostecky was born on March 24, 1941 in Merced, California to Leonard and Marie Aue. She left this world peacefully surrounded by family to join her Lord in Heaven on December 1, 2023.

She attended Weaver Elementary School and Merced High School, where she played the flute in the Merced Marching 100 Band. She played pivotal roles in the PTA as its President, 4-H, and Blue Birds and was a very active member in the Christian Church of the Valley, playing the piano. Additionally, Audrey forged lasting connections while working at the Shelby Center and Courtesy Oldsmobile and Chevrolet.

Audrey loved watching the San Francisco Giants, Pittsburgh Steelers and movies on the Hallmark Channel. Her family was very important to her and she cherished every moment spent with them.

Audrey, affectionately known as Grandma or Gma, is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Gordon and Eugene, and one sister, Sandra Sue. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those whose lives she touched, particularly her sons, Jeff and Kevin, and her daughter, Carrie (Rick) Heinrich. She is also survived by her brother, Dennis (Patricia) Aue, five grandchildren, Robert (Amanda), Alison, and Jessica Kostecky, Kyle (Ariel) and Lane (Breana) Harrison, and five great grandchildren, Travis, Madison, and Miles Kostecky and Riley and Wesley Harrison.

The family extends sincere gratitude to everyone who supported keeping Audrey at home during her final months.

A private burial will be held and a Celebration of Life is scheduled at the Christian Church of the Valley, 2212 Cherry Avenue, Merced, CA at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 18, 2023. Following the memorial service, lunch will be served. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests considering a donation in Audrey's name to the Christian Church of the Valley.
