Antonio Herminio Garcia

Antonio Herminio Garcia, lovingly known as Tony, peacefully entered rest surrounded by his devoted and loving family on December 4th, 2025, in Turlock, California. He was 73 years old.

Born April 27th, 1952, on the Island of Faial, Portugal, Tony’s remarkable journey began when he moved with his parents from his homeland to Canada in 1960.

Then in 1970, he ventured out on his own to Vancouver Canada and started building his 40 year career in construction. Tony was a union man with an unshakable work ethic. In 1975, he married the love of his life Rosemarie Garcia, beginning a life long partnership marked by devotion, strength and grace. They recently celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary together. Their marriage welcomed two beautiful children, Jaqueline and Tony Robert Garcia along the way.

Tony, Rosemarie and their children moved to Atwater California in 1987. There he continued his career in construction, mainly in concrete work. He ultimately became a foreman and retired in 2009.

Both of their beautiful children peacefully entered rest, causing great family hardship but also demonstrating his unwavering determination to “keep going” as he’d say.

Tony worked the majority of his life in hard physical demanding jobs, and faced unbearable personal tragedy. Even then, Tony never wavered from his commitment to provide a good life for those he loved. Tony’s selflessness shown almost daily, never forgetting to reach out to family and friends to check on them even as he was going through things himself. After losing their daughter Jaqueline, Tony and Rosemarie continued to raise their grandson Robert. Tony was very proud of his grandson and they were extremely close.

Tony is survived by his loving spouse Rosemarie Garcia, his mother Herminia Garcia, his 3 younger brothers Robert (Linda), Helder (Lori), and Rick Garcia. Also his cherished grandsons and granddaughters, Robert Erik Garcia, Noah Garcia, Deanna, and Deseree who brought him immense pride and joy.

Tony now rests safely in the arms of the Lord, reunited with those who went before him and embraced by the eternal peace he so faithfully believed in.

Services will be held Thursday December 11, 2025, at Wilson Family Funeral Chapel located at 1290 Winton Way, Atwater CA 95301. Viewing will be at 10:00 am with Service immediately following at 11:00 am. Reception will follow service.
