Alma Delma Stone
November 14, 1946 ~ December 31, 2023 (age 77) 77 Years Old
It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that the Stone family announces the passing of Alma Delma Stone (Frankie). Our loving family member passed away on December 31, 2023, in Merced, Ca. surrounded by her loved ones by her side.
Frankie was born in Turlock, CA. to Willo Alva Brewer and Ellen Calcia Brewer (Beets) and grew up in Cressey, Ca.
Frankie lived an extraordinary life filled with adventure, laughter and love. She was an amazing, strong woman and very much loved by everyone she knew. Frankie enjoyed working at Bloss Memorial Hospital in Atwater in her earlier years. She then went on to cosmetology school and became a hairdresser. Once she earned her degree, she worked at Unique Hair for 37 years as a hairdresser in Atwater with her longtime friend Renee Davenport. One of her passions was watching her boys race at Merced Speedway as well as other family members. She loved watching how competitive they were so much; she began keeping her own score cards and making sure to give her commentary and pointers to each of them.
Besides doting on her family and friends, her greatest hobby was genealogy. She was a member and web coordinator with the Merced County Genealogy Society, a member and contributor to the Merced County Historical Society, FindAGrave.com, Rootsweb.com to name a few. She spent enjoyable hours helping her community locating long lost family members here and abroad. Frankie was honored by receiving several awards for her contributions towards the goals of the Merced County Historical Society's mission in the preservation, restoration, written and oral history of Merced County.
She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, James Edward Stone (Sonny). Son's Troy (Carol) Stone, Ramie (Sheryle) Stone. Granddaughter Melanie (Aaron) Silva, grandson's Nathan (Kymberlee) Stone and Seth Stone. Five great grandchildren, Lexie Stone, Carson Silva, Ethan Stone, Kinzy Silva and Riley Stone. Sister Gaytha Grissom, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
