Josefina Romero Ortega

Josefina Romero Ortega, 81 of Planada CA, passed away in the comfort of her home on Wednesday April 17th.

Josefina was born in Guanajuato, Mexico on August 13, 1942, and immigrated to the US in 1978. She dedicated her younger years to caring for her home, family, and her children, although throughout the 80s she worked seasonally alongside her family harvesting grapes. In the late 90’s and in 2000, she worked in tomato packing plants. Working for Bianchi and Sons and later for Central California Tomato Packing. While living in Florida in 2001, she enjoyed working for Big Kmart.
In 2011 she came back to her adored home in Planada, where she resided until her passing.
She lived and witnessed life events, that will forever stay in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

She maintained a beautiful rose garden and shared her love for her flowers with those around her and took pride in showing you around the kitchen sharing her knowledge and love of cooking.

She is survived by her 8 children who will forever hold her in their soul: Joaquin, Miguel Angel, Ricardo, Agustin, Lourdes, Maria, Asencion, and Salvador.
And to carry on her story and legacy are 19 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and as of this date 10 great-great grandchildren.

Josefina nació en Guanajuato, México el 13 de agosto de 1942 y emigró a los Estados Unidos en 1978. Dedicó sus años de juventud al cuidado de su casa, su familia y sus hijos, aunque a lo largo de los años 80 trabajó por temporadas junto a su familia cosechando uvas. A finales de los años 90 y en el año 2000, trabajó en plantas empacadoras de tomates. Trabajando para Bianchi and Sons y más tarde para Central California Tomato Packing. Mientras vivía en Florida en 2001, disfrutó trabajando para Big Kmart.
En 2011 regresó a su adorada casa en Planada, donde residió hasta su fallecimiento.
Vivió y fue testigo de acontecimientos vitales, que permanecerán para siempre en el corazón de quienes la conocieron y la amaron.

Mantuvo un hermoso jardín de rosas y compartió su amor por sus flores con quienes la rodeaban y se enorgullecía de mostrarle la cocina compartiendo su conocimiento y amor por la cocina.

Le sobreviven sus 8 hijos que la llevarán por siempre en su alma: Joaquín, Miguel Ángel, Ricardo, Agustín, Lourdes, María, Asención, y Salvador.
Y para continuar con su historia y legado hay 19 nietos, 23 bisnietos y a la fecha 10 tataranietos.
